Embrace: Women & Self-Loathing

This is a very powerful documentary about women and their relationship with their bodies. When Body Image Activist Taryn Brumfitt posted an unconventional before-and-after photo in 2013 it was seen by more than 100 million people worldwide and sparked an international media frenzy. This is her attempt to respond to the thousands of people who reached out to her after seeing her photo. This is a raw look into the world women deal with and the inner impact it often has upon them. I learned a lot and got pretty ticked at just how ugly people can be towards women and each other. This is a really important film.

Heads Up: There is some nudity in the film and very frank discussions about women’s bodies and health. I do think every woman should watch this and if you’re married, it’s a good film to watch together.
